MEGGABIOTICS™
MEGGABIOTICS are a new frontier in immunotherapy using IgY antibodies — orally delivered, egg-derived immunoglobulins that target pathogens at the source. Unlike traditional immunotherapies that act systemically and often require injection, MEGGABIOTICS work locally in the gut or other mucosal biomes to neutralize pathogens, toxins, and disease triggers without disrupting the microbiome.
This novel passive immunotherapy platform offers the specificity of monoclonal antibodies with the safety, scalability, and affordability of a food-based product. Our lead candidates target infectious and chronic conditions driven by microbial imbalances, including C. difficile, UTI, ETEC, IBS, acid reflux, and asthma.
With increasing demand for non-antibiotic anti-infectives and microbiome-based therapeutics, MEGGABIOTICS represent a low-risk, high-upside innovation — poised to transform the treatment of both acute infections and chronic inflammatory disease, with the added potential to treat and/or prevent respiratory infections as well.
SCIENTIFIC SUMMARY
Scientific Rationale for MEGGABIOTICS (IgY) as a Novel Immunotherapy
MEGGABIOTICS (IgY) is the functional analog of mammalian IgG found in avian species. When hens are immunized with a specific antigen (e.g., bacterial toxin or surface protein), they deposit large quantities of antigen-specific IgY into their egg yolks. These polyclonal antibodies can be harvested in a highly scalable, non-invasive manner and formulated for oral delivery.
Mechanism of Action
IgY antibodies bind specifically to pathogenic antigens, neutralizing toxins, preventing microbial adherence, or blocking colonization.
Orally delivered IgY remains active in the gastrointestinal tract, where it exerts its effects without entering systemic circulation — reducing safety risks and enabling direct action on gut-associated pathogens or triggers of inflammation.
Unlike antibiotics, MEGGABIOTICS do not indiscriminately kill bacteria, preserving beneficial commensals and reducing the risk of resistance.

Stage: Early Research We are exploring a novel IgY oral antibody approach to support healthy weight management and metabolic balance. By targeting specific gut-derived triggers of chronic inflammation, our research suggests this approach may offer benefits similar to existing GLP-1 therapies—but without the gastrointestinal side effects. This research represents a promising new direction in microbiome-focused health solutions, aiming to address the root causes of metabolic dysfunction rather than only the symptoms. Note: This product is currently in research and development and is not yet available for clinical use.
MEGGABIOTICS immunotherapy bridges the gap between biologic precision and consumer-grade safety — offering a new class of safe, scalable, and effective treatments for diseases where traditional drugs have failed or caused harm.
