MEGGA
BIOTICS™
A new class of precision microbiome immunotherapy delivered through oral immunonutrition
Redefining Biotechnology’s Purpose: We FYX people.
JOHN HARE
🦠 Neutralizing harmful microbes at their source — in the gut, oral cavity, respiratory and urinary tracts — to treat and prevent infection, inflammation, and chronic disease.
MEGGABIOTICS is pioneering a new class of targeted therapies using IgY polyclonal antibodies. These antibodies are designed to neutralize harmful microbes directly in the gut and other mucosal surfaces—where many infections and chronic diseases begin.
Unlike antibiotics, which often disrupt the body's natural microbial balance, MEGGABIOTICS are designed to target specific pathogens while preserving beneficial bacteria.
Our mission is to bring precision antibody protection to everyday health challenges, from serious hospital infections to global infectious diseases and microbiome-driven chronic conditions.
A Platform for the Next Generation of Infectious Disease Prevention
The MEGGABIOTICS platform builds on decades of research into IgY antibodies, a natural immune defense found in eggs. These antibodies can be produced safely, rapidly, and at large scale, offering a powerful new approach to preventing and treating disease.
Vaccines teach the body to make antibodies.
MEGGABIOTICS deliver the antibodies directly.
This unique strategy allows targeted protection at the mucosal surfaces where many infections begin, including the gut and respiratory system.
Clinical Progress
MEGGABIOTICS technology has already advanced from concept to clinical development and deployment.
In animal health we developed and registered the world's first oral antibody veterinary treatment for E. coli diarrhea prevention in neonatal pigs.
Our lead human therapeutic program is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials targeting Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI)—a serious and costly infection often triggered by antibiotic use.
We are also pursuing regulatory pathways for preventive therapies designed to protect patients before infections occur.
Expanding Pipeline
Our antibody platform enables rapid development of targeted therapies against multiple infectious diseases and microbiome-related conditions. Key areas of focus include:
Acute Infections
Microbiome-Related Chronic Disease
Pandemic Preparedness
Why the Microbiome Matters
Scientific research increasingly shows that imbalances in the gut microbiome (dysbiosis) can contribute to infections, chronic inflammation, and disease. Traditional treatments often address symptoms rather than root microbial triggers.
MEGGABIOTICS takes a different approach: targeting harmful microbes while preserving the beneficial ecosystem that supports human health.
Scalable, Natural Antibody Production
IgY antibodies are produced naturally by hens and collected from eggs through proprietary processes. This approach offers several advantages:
- Rapid antibody development against new pathogens
- Cost-effective large-scale manufacturing
- Safe, natural production methods
- Targeted action at mucosal surfaces
These characteristics make the platform well suited for global health applications and pandemic preparedness.
The Vision
We believe the future of medicine will increasingly focus on preventing disease by controlling harmful microbes at their source.
MEGGABIOTICS represents a new frontier in healthcare—one where precision microbiome antibodies can help:
- Prevent infections before they start
- Reduce dependence on antibiotics
- Restore microbiome balance
- Address the microbial roots of chronic disease

Complementing and Enhancing Vaccine Protection
Vaccines work by stimulating the body's immune system to produce its own antibodies. However, immune responses to vaccines can vary widely among individuals. Factors such as:
- Age
- Underlying health conditions
- Immune system variability
- Genetic differences
- Prior exposure to pathogens
can all influence how well someone responds to vaccination.
MEGGABIOTICS offer a complementary protective strategy because they deliver ready-made antibodies directly, without requiring the body to generate its own immune response.
This means they may:
- Provide immediate protection while vaccine immunity develops
- Offer support for individuals who do not mount strong vaccine responses
- Provide additional mucosal protection where many infections begin
- Help bridge protection during emerging outbreaks or viral variants
Rather than replacing vaccines, MEGGABIOTICS have the potential to work alongside them, strengthening protection against infectious disease.
Why This Matters
Antibiotics and vaccines remain critical tools in modern medicine, but both have limitations.
Antibiotics can disrupt the microbiome and drive resistance, while vaccine responses may vary among individuals.
MEGGABIOTICS introduce a third approach: targeted antibody therapy delivered directly to the site of infection—helping neutralize pathogens while preserving the body's natural microbial balance.
